Support School Sport (SSS)

Whilst I appreciate that we are due an announcement from Mr Gove, we cannot rest on our laurels and must plan ahead for if the announcement isn’t what we are all hoping for.

As a result we are keen to press on with the campaign and keep our profile high.  We have planned an event to attract more media attention to our cause.  On the Wednesday the 19th January we are inviting all schools to take part in ‘The SSP Big Dance’.  The 19th January is 555 days to the Olympics – 555=SSS=Support School Sport!  At 20to12 (11.40am) on that day schools who wish to ‘Support School Sport’ will perform the dance either in their classroom or together in their school hall.  We would also encourage SSPs or County Areas to organise a central venue where a mass participation event can take place which would attract media attention.  This is a real opportunity to raise the profile of the campaign, celebrate the power of sport in uniting people and really show the strength of our network.  I hope you will join in!  I will send out further details i.e. The dance routine, an invitation to schools, how to register, instructions for the day and any post event recording asap.
